The Orff Schulwerk Association of South Australia (OSASA) has once again received funding from Educators SA (CEASA) to develop a Regional Music Mentorship Project. The project will run throughout 2019.
The Regional Music Mentoring Project will support up to 3 teachers in regional primary schools to develop their skills and understanding of teaching music, with a focus on using the Orff Schulwerk approach.
Classroom teachers, Music and Performing Arts specialists from any school sector are encouraged to apply.
This project aims to build a solid foundation and understanding of music education.
The RMMP will provide successful applicants with:
Attendance to both the Regional and Metropolitan workshops at no cost
$100 travel assistance
1 TRT day for release to attend an in-class observation with an approved Orff practitioner
Ongoing support from experienced Orff practitioners through a closed online forum
Selected applicants must:
Be, or become, part of the Orff Community (2019 Community Membership Subscription is $76)
Attend both the regional workshop in Pt Augusta on Saturday 23rd March as well as the metropolitan workshop in Adelaide on Saturday 17th August
Complete an observation day in a metropolitan school with an approved Orff practitioner
Be prepared to fully involve themselves in the project and take full advantage of the learning opportunities available throughout the year.
Prepare a summary of personal and student learning outcomes, including growth, by Friday 15th November (Term 4, Week 5) to share with the OSASA Community
Have the approval and support of their principal/site leader
Recipients of the 2017 Regional Music Mentorship Program are ineligible to apply.
Submissions must be made online via the OSASA Website by Midnight Friday 22nd February.
